I have been a sculptress, potter, painter, and teacher for over 30 years. I have worked with people of all ages.   I am the mother of three sons and a daughter.  The two youngest are both attending college. I myself worked my way through college while raising my children, and finally went back to the University of Washington to finish my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.

Experience:

Summer 2004: Attending open studios at Seattle Academy of Fine Art.  Exhibiting at the Atlas Cafe and the Coastal Kitchen.  Elected to the chair of the Art Committee at Temple Beth Am.

Spring 2004: Attending classes at the Pratt Art Institute, art workshops at the Frye Museum, and open studio workshops at the Academy of Realist Art, Seattle.

2003-2004 Volunteered as a court-ordered supervisor of a woman who was re-establishing parental visitation rights.

2003-2004 attending classes at Frye Art Museum and Pratt Art Institute.

Summer 2003 4 day workshop on portrait painting at the Frye Museum.  Worked with a painter's group at the Pratt Institute. Portrait commissions and political poster commissions.  Hung a show for Edith Weinstein at the Bon Marche, and hung a show for Joan Bremer at Temple Beth Am.  Participated in an open portfolio review of my photographs at the Fyre Art Museum.

Spring 2003 Painted sets for Good News!  at Summit School, attended workshops at the Frye Museum and at the Pratt Institute. Painted a backdrop for a musical at Catherine Blaine Elementary in Seattle. 

Winter 2002-2003 One woman show of 17 paintings at  Temple Beth Am
 
Fall 2002 Hung a show for the artist Gary Faighin at Temple Beth Am.  Over the past 8 years, I have helped with the selection and hanging of over 50 art shows at our temple gallery and have curated several shows including one on Jewish embroidery and one on Ethiopian Jewish Art.  Also served as a member of the "Scholar in Residence" committee.

Spring 2002 Painted sets for the Spring musical, Once Upon a Mattress, at Summit School. Painted a backdrop for Little Shop of Horrors, a Civic Light Opera musical.

2001 Painted sets for three plays and the musical, Grease, at Summit School

1999-2000 Art Instructor in Ceramics and Watercolor at Miller Park Community Center.

1999-2000 Auction committee at Summit School, painted sets for A Mid Summer Night's Dream.  Designed and painted the set for Wonderful Town.

2000 SPICE Site coordinator. Ran the summer program at Miller Park, including budgeting, planning, scheduling and working with seniors.   Art work shops in ceramics, working with special education children at Summit School.

1990-2000 SPICE Instructor. Art projects for senior citizens.  Worked on fund raising projects for the SPICE centers.  I developed a series of cards which were sold.

1996 Summit K-12 School. Led a parent/student team which built a tile wall for a playscape.

1982-1992 and 1994-1996 Temple Beth Am Sunday School - Art Teacher. Worked with children K-8 on a variety of projects including paper cuts, watercolor, felt, and ceramics.

1994 SPICE and Stevens school. Helped build a concrete and tile walkway .

1994 Stevens Elementary School, Seattle. Worked with a team of parents to build a playscape, including fund raising, permitting, design, grading, construction, and maintenance.

1987-1991 Stevens Elementary School: Designed, built, and painted sets for three childrens' musicals..

1986,1987 Seattle Center Winterfest. Ran Chanukah art workshops at Seattle Center

1980-2002 Lowell Elementary School, Stevens Elementary, Summit School - parent volunteer. Worked in classrooms with children on a variety of art projects, typeset brochures, administrative tasks, field trip driver.

1978-1981 Ran a home day care. Cared for children both days and evenings. Student at the University of Washington.

1972-1973 Wenatchee Valley Community College. Teaching assistant in Art; loaded and fired kiln. Maintained the fire arts facility.

1969-1976 Leavenworth, Washington. Art in the Parks. Sold ceramics and paintings. A&M Ceramics, Wenatchee. Slip caster and instructor. Represented by Vel Andress gallery.
