The Politics and Finance Page

The background on this page says "HaAm Eem HaGolan"  which means "The country with the Golan".  It is somewhat of an in your face slogan, and it is seen more frequently in the north than in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.  One of the controversies that was rocking the state of Israel while we were there is should Israel return the Golan heights to Syria in exchange for peace?  In the Golan, the Israelis have been creating the intrastructure for an economically viable society: houses, business, gas stations, grocery stores, and internet cafes.  The longer Syria dithers over whether or not to accept Israels' existance, the more difficult it will be for the Israelis to give up their capital investment in it.
I have decided that I am in favor of out and out annexation of the Golan by Israel.  It has been 33 years since the 1967 war, and I think it is fairly clear that Israel is not going to go away (although it might self-destruct if some of its other problems are not addressed).
