My
daughter Sarah and I went to Southern California to visit colleges
(California Institute of the Arts,
a Disney artist factory; Otis; the
Art Institute of Southern California,
5 Wyland Walls, 3 Wyland galleries, Hollywood, Disney studios, Harvey
Mudd College, Warner Brothers Studios, and Griffith Park).
While we were airborne, the sun set. My
daughter whipped out her sketchbook and started drawing the wing of the
airplane, a Boeing 737. Then, she drew this angel on top of
it.
3 months later, she scanned the drawing with
her scanner and then loaded the image into Photoshop 6.0, and wound up
with this image, which is the background for this page.
It's a gorgeous bit of work. Note that,
for example, the crescent moon is truly facing the sun, which is below
the local horizon. The light glinting off the leading the edge is
an accurate portrayal of what we saw.

I'm very proud of my little girl, even if she
is going off to college.
